I cannot get enough of books….that and ketchup chips. But ketchup chips have nothing to do with decorating, so I guess I should get back to books. Books are multifunctional. You can read them, smell them (don’t try to deny that you don’t like smelling old books. Especially really, really old books). Yankee Candle needs to get on that! I like “Library Book”, it has a nice ring to it.
You can stack them and colour co-ordinate them on shelves, the possibilities are endless. If you wander through my house, you’ll see lots of stacked books. I like that they give height to a grouping of objects, and that they add something unexpected. I buy most of my vintage books from junk shops. I try not to pay more than $5 for one, especially if I’m just using them to decorate with. But if I see the brand spanking new trilogy of the “Twilight Series”, than I might pay more…but I don’t read the those books…
This weeks homework is as follows, go through your house and find some books with interesting covers (remember to take the book jacket off) and get creative with them! And buy ketchup chips. You won’t regret it.
